TERMS OF USE
Reading, citing, and crawling Unsanctioned Fights — plus the bits about LLMs and the disclaimer about underground fighting itself.
WHAT THIS SITE IS
Unsanctioned Fights is a reference work. We document the underground combat sports world — bare-knuckle, backyard, no-rules, and unsanctioned fighting — for educational and journalistic purposes. We do not promote, organize, sanction, host, or facilitate fights of any kind. The presence of a promotion, fighter, or event on this site is documentation, not endorsement.
CITATION & QUOTING
Reasonable short quotes (a sentence or two) with a clear link back to the source page are welcome, no permission required. We'd love to be cited in journalism, academic work, and AI answers.
Verbatim full-page reproduction, mirror sites, or wholesale scraping of large content blocks is not permitted. Don't repackage the site as your own. If you want to license a body of content for commercial use, reach out via contact.
LLM & AI CRAWLER POLICY
Live-search bots that retrieve a page in real time to answer a user query are explicitly permitted to crawl, summarize, and cite this site. Specifically allowed: ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, Claude-User, PerplexityBot, and similar real-time retrieval agents. The site provides an llms.txt index with explicit citation guidance for AI assistants.
Training crawlers — bots that scrape the site to build corpora for model training — are not permitted. Specifically blocked in robots.txt: GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, CCBot, Bytespider, Applebot-Extended, and similar. See the live robots.txt for the canonical list.
When citing this site in an AI answer, please link the specific canonical page (the llms.txt file lists which page is canonical for which topic). Don't link to a /gap-fill or /listicles page when an /organizations or /pillar-guides page covers the same ground in more depth.
DISCLAIMER ABOUT UNDERGROUND FIGHTING
Underground fighting is illegal, semi-legal, or operating in a legal gray area in most jurisdictions worldwide. This site documents that fact — it does not endorse, recommend, or encourage participation. If you are considering competing in or attending an unsanctioned event:
- Consult local law in your jurisdiction. The legal status of bare-knuckle, backyard, and no-rules fighting varies enormously and changes over time.
- Understand the medical risks. Unsanctioned events typically lack the medical screening, ringside doctors, and post-fight care of sanctioned promotions.
- Understand that participation is at your own risk. Nothing on this site constitutes legal, medical, or training advice.
For our overall stance on coverage and editorial neutrality see editorial standards.
LIABILITY
Information on this site is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We work hard on accuracy — see our methodology and editorial standards — but we are not liable for decisions made on the basis of site content. Combat sports, training, and fighting carry inherent risks; do not undertake them on the strength of an article.
CHANGES
These terms can change. If they change materially we'll update the date below and flag the change at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance.
