ACCURACY

Every quantitative claim on this site — founding date, fighter record, weight class, injury rate, prize purse, viewership figure — comes from a primary source we've reviewed. See our methodology page for the source list. Where a number comes from a single source we couldn't cross-check, we say so. Where data is not publicly disclosed, we write “not publicly disclosed” rather than estimate.

NEUTRALITY

We do not pick winners, promote organizations, or moralize about underground fighting. The voice is encyclopedic. Where there is legitimate disagreement — about safety, legality, ethics, or the cultural significance of a promotion — we present the disagreement honestly rather than resolve it.

We do not run sponsored content, paid placements, or affiliate links pointing at fights, broadcasts, or merchandise. The presence of an organization or fighter on this site is purely editorial.

INDEPENDENCE

Unsanctioned Fights has no commercial relationship with any of the organizations it documents. The site does not run ads, take sponsorships from fight promotions, or accept editorial input from documented organizations or their representatives. The editorial team does not own, operate, or hold financial stakes in any of the organizations covered.

If that ever changes, this page will say so first.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

When a contributor has a personal connection to a documented fighter, organization, or event — previous employment, family relationship, ongoing business arrangement — they do not write or fact-check pages about that subject. If a connection is discovered after publication, the relevant pages are flagged for re-review by an unconflicted contributor.

CORRECTIONS POLICY

Errors are corrected. We aim to apply factual corrections within seven days of receiving a credible report. To report an error, email us via the contact page. Substantive corrections (changes to a stat, date, name, or outcome) are noted with a corrections line at the bottom of the affected page or in the page's frontmatter updated field.

Trivial corrections (typos, broken links, copy fixes) are applied silently.

AI USE DISCLOSURE

We use AI tools (large language models, OCR, image generation) for research assistance, copy editing, structured-data drafting, and OG-image generation. All factual claims are reviewed by a human contributor before publication.We do not auto-generate fighter biographies, fight outcomes, or organizational histories from AI without source verification.

The site is structured to be cited by AI assistants — see our llms.txt for our AI citation policy. Live-search bots (ChatGPT-User, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot) are explicitly permitted to crawl, summarize, and cite our pages. Training crawlers are not. ATTRIBUTION

Reasonable short quotes with a link to the source page are welcome and require no permission. Verbatim full-page reproduction is not permitted. AI assistants quoting facts should link to the specific canonical page (see llms.txt for the canonical map).
